Returns & Sustainability Policy

At our core, we believe in conscious consumption and creating pieces that last. Shipping single items back and forth across oceans creates an immense carbon footprint and is subject to complex international customs regulations.

To combat textile waste and offer you a seamless experience, we have structured our return policy to be as sustainable and frictionless as possible.

1. Our Two Digital Paths (No Return Shipping Required)

For the majority of our global customers, we offer two instant, returnless solutions if your garment doesn't fit perfectly. This eliminates the need for expensive international labels, customs forms, and transit emissions.

  • Path 1: The Sustainable Exchange (100% Store Credit)

    If the fit isn’t right, keep the garment to gift to a friend or family member. We will immediately issue you 100% Store Credit to order your correct size. Note: This courtesy is limited to one instance per customer account.

  • Path 2: The Donation Refund (50% Cash Payout)

    If you prefer a cash refund to your original payment method, you do not need to mail it back. Instead, simply donate the garment to a local registered charity or clothing bank. Once you email us a photo of your formal donation receipt alongside a photo of the item, we will issue a 50% cash refund. This cap helps us offset initial production costs while supporting local communities.

For Traditional Returns: Customer is responsible for tracked international shipping to the US and all upfront customs duties/fees (DDP). Item must be unworn with tags attached.

Due to complex customs requirements, we cannot currently accept physical returns from our international customers. We offer personalized assistance with any size queries. Please message/DM us.

Regional & Legal Details

For Our US Customers

If you choose a traditional mail-in return rather than our digital donation/exchange options, you may mail your item back to our processing facility in Florida. Please contact support@studiodefaux.com to initiate a mail-in return request. The customer is responsible for the cost of the return mailing label.

For Our UK, EU & International Customers

Under UK and EU consumer laws, you maintain a statutory 14-day right to reject an item for a full cash refund. To honor this legally, you are permitted to mail your garment back to our facility in the United States.

Critical Notice on International Mail-In Returns: Due to strict global customs legislation, any commercial shipment entering the United States faces full customs screening and import tariffs. If you choose a traditional mail-in return, you must ship the package Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). Any return packages arriving at our facility with unpaid duties, taxes, or brokerage fees will be automatically rejected by the carrier and returned to sender.

Because international tracked shipping and US import duties often exceed $60–$80 per parcel, we strongly encourage EU/UK & international customers to utilize our 100% Store Credit or 50% Donation Refund pathways.


How to Submit a Claim

To initiate an exchange or a donation refund, please email our team at support@studiodefaux.com with:

  1. Your Order Number.

  2. A brief note explaining the fit issue.

  3. A photo of the garment with original hangtags visibly attached, placed next to a handwritten note showing your order number and today’s date.
